Few months back, I received a call from Mei Yuet, Soul Works Singer/Designer, calling for photos for a new album by Rev. Timothy. I said, "why not? I would love to do so." In the very beginning as I took up this photography thing, I told God-Oh Lord, use my eyes to take good shots for Your Kingdom! Indeed, He listen to me. I'm glad to see my pictures printed in this album. Yo! Mei Yuet! You guys really did a great job! And thanks for the copy =) love the song so much!

Really hope my photographys can channel great income for my living as well as for the Kingdom of God... big big! Hah! Amen!

My Macbook Pro

In the business world, gadget and equipment are very important! Especially to a photographer. Indeed, a good set of camera, lenses, and a digital dark room must be in place.

Two months ago, I'd started on my own. Totally fresh! No equipment, no portfolio, no this and that. Really thank God, the Lord Jesus Christ!!! He delivered me throughout these days. I strong believed Jehovah Jireh! My provider. Today my equipment has finally reached to the optimum level. Furthermore, jobs and booking coming in abundantly. I would also like to thank my family members, they are Yeh Yeh, Mah Mah, Mom, Dad, Kuche(s), brothers and my miracle's wife and son-Ezra, for their financial and mentally support. You guy really did a great job! I love you all! 

Let me introduce to you my new digital dark room - Macbook Pro 2.5

What I'd like most is the speed and "two in one" concept(2xOS in a computer). Chinese have a says; who don't know your mom is a woman? (pls. ignore my grammar due to direct translate), mother is a woman, mac is an expensive gadget. As I browsed throughout the market - Dell, HP, IBM and etc. All these are great computer maker. Unfortunately, they're not fit in my budget and workflow. I need good graphic, fast processing, 2 operation system but also affordable? Hah! This is the funny part. Mac - affordable? Never, but thank God. I was in a right time to get 1. FYI, Mac just lunched a batch of new models. All presence mac stuff - price drop! 

WOW! 

Before all these happen, back to 2 weeks ago, I'd called my mac supplier to check price and stuff. He said there will be new model coming soon. Oh! I was so excited and desperate for it... gila and fever about it,checking the web everyday, hoping for the news to come...Trust me - really like a moron! 

Well, after 2 weeks, after Hari Raya Puasa - my supplier, Benny called me up. Bro! bad news - I'd said, HAH!? new model doesn't come with fire wire 400. Because FW400 is an obsolete I/O. Walau eh! Me really muka panjang, sial - sad la. I need FW400 to do video capturing and other hi-speed transferring. Too bad la. So, I have no choice but to take the older 1. 

Eventually, as I look back. God is so good. Although, I m getting the older ver. but instead of getting the entry level but I can afford the mid-range due to the price drop. To cut the long story short. God is blessing me a just right mac in my business. Trust the Lord, my friend!

Church Camp 2008

Keng's Photography

My great-great-grandfather was one of the pioneer photographer in Malaya in the 1900s. Before that, he used to be a portrait illustrator. However, he was fascinated when he first saw a British sailor using a camera to capture portrait. Soon he acquired the photography skills and opened his first photo studio named Keng U in High Street, now known as Jalan Tun H.S. Lee in Kuala Lumpur.

My great-grandfather later came into the business to join his father running the photo studio. His vision was far and within a short period of time Keng U prospered and expanded from north in Sungei Petani, Kedah to south in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. All his five sons, the eldest of which was my grandfather, were intensively trained to become professional photographers even by the age of 20.

My grandfather operated his own photo studio named Keng Sing in Jalan Bangsar in 1957. Together with my father, they built a successful team in outdoor and studio photography.

As a child, I was already exposed to photography. Day in and day out my grandfather and father would only talk about photography at home. Photo exposure, hand coloring, soft focus were common words I heard. As I grew older, I used to follow my father to Keng Sing to help during the school holidays; that was the beginning of my keen interest in still arts. My passion for it grew since then.

I was determined to pursue my career in this field. Upon completion of my secondary education, I took up a two years course in 3D Animation which involves digital imaging, graphic design, still and moving arts.

After my studies I was attached to Dragon Optical Media Technologies Sdn. Bhd., where I gained tremendous experience and skills in video graphic and film editing. From 2002 I was doing some freelancing in videography and photography. I happened to meet a renowned photojournalist from Singapore. He saw my talent and creativity in photography and offered me to work for him as his official wedding and corporate videographer and photographer for two years.

I always dream that one day I can start my own photography/videography business under the brand name “Keng” (meaning lens in Cantonese) which was first started by my great-great grandfather. My dream has finally come true as from now I will embark on my new undertaking called Keng’s Photography. I now carry on the legacy of the photography business in my Lee Family. I am proud to be the 5th generation photographer.
